Perched on the tranquil Kharasrota riverfront right beside the world-famous Bhitarkanika mangrove sanctuary, enthusiasts can set up their photography rigs along the palace grounds or embark on custom morning boat safaris to observe over 320+ species of birds (including 8 species of kingfishers, white-bellied sea eagles, and openbill storks) along with massive saltwater crocodiles basking under the sun.

To launch your adventure, begin with delightful boat rides along the gentle currents of the Kharasrota River as the sun starts to set, capturing the enchanting hues of the early evening sky. If navigating the backwaters isn't for you, you can always opt for exploring the charming island opposite the palace with a leisurely walk and enjoy a delightful picnic in privacy.

For a dash of beachside bliss, venture on a one-hour drive to the serene Pentha Beach. And as the evening sets in, gather around the crackling bonfire for an evening of stories, laughter, and camaraderie under the starlit sky.

CULTURAL EXPLORATIONS

Enjoy a captivating Odissi dance show performed by a talented local troupe, showcasing the beauty of traditional art.

You can also make a day trip to Odisha's famous Diamond Triangle - a significant archaeological site comprising of three historic hills that are Udaygiri, Khandagiri and Ratnagiri. All three hills are located at close proximity to each other and are renowned for their ancient rock-cut caves and inscriptions, dating back to the reign of the Kalinga Dynasty and Jain period.

Detailed Itinerary

Day-1

Arriving at mid-day 12noon, having lunch at 1.30pm, Tea at 4pm on sands by the riverside, relaxing boat ride along the river, visiting the 350 years old Shree Laxmibarah temple for evening Aarati, Return to Killa Aul Palace for bon fire, optional cocktail party followed by dinner.

Day-2

Next day early morning breakfast at 7.30am , departure to Bhitarkanika National Park at 8am, Trekking, Cruise, Motor Boat Safari, Sightseeing at Bhitarkanika National Park and returning to the palace by 2pm. Visiting to local villages, unique Sialia Village where the houses don't have doors and windows in it, followed by visiting artisan , who make handicrafts and potteries. Return back to Killa Aul Palace, optional Cocktail party in the evening and dinner at night.

Day-3

Have early breakfast , visit Ratnagiri , Lalitgiri & Udaygiri Buddhist sites on the way back to Bhubaneswar.

Day-4

If staying , visit to Pentha Beach, enjoying sea beach for a day followed by lunch, 1hour drive from palace. In the evening back to palace and followed by cultural evening on request with (additional charges) (Odishi/Folk Music & Dance).
